Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in cannabis. It has gained a lot of popularity recently as it’s been reported to be a safe, non-addictive substance that could potentially treat a wide range of illnesses, including pain, anxiety, depression, PTSD, insomnia, cancer, glaucoma, acne, epilepsy, MS, ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, blood pressure, diabetes, addiction and even schizophrenia.

Personally, I have used CBD with many of my patients with pretty impressive results. In Virginia, patients who may benefit from CBD and THC-A oils can be certified by certain licensed physicians (I am one of them). The Virginia Board of Pharmacy just announced the names and locations of five CBD and THC-A oil dispensaries that are set to open by the end of 2019. Hopefully, this will provide a way for patients in Virginia to obtain more affordable and high-quality CBD and THC-A oil to use for their medical conditions.
